Where are the updates and events?

I still have the candy bash thing from Halloween on my loading screen and also where are the events, November didnt have its usual stuff and so far I havent seen anything for winter? Ive been playing for two years now and I feel like with dragonvale world out its like dragonvale has been forgotten about, but maybe thats just me.
